3 Peaks Challenge 1 May 2011


This year, Warrington Vivekananda Shakha will again be taking part in the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge. This is a Sponsored Walk / Trek. The Challenge is 24.5 MILES long including Pen-y-Ghent ,Whernside and Ingleborough with total climb of 5,000ft. Please bear in mind the following information:



SUNDAY 01 MAY 2011 - BANK HOLIDAY WEEK END
Start at  HORTON IN RIBBLESDALE  AT 7.00 AM
Must arrive by 6.30am  for registration &
briefing at Horton Cafe Car Park & toilet facilities

Registration Fee is £5. We need to complete group registration form.
Raise money for Sewa International Charity 

Important!! YOU MUST BE KITTED FOR A TREK
Boots, waterproofs, food, water, chocolates etc.
Be prepared for bad weather.
Average fitness - walk time app 12 Hours, fast group 9 hours.
Walk 1 or 2 peaks only
Pen-y-Ghent 5 miles return to start point then attempt
Igleborough peak and back to Horton in Ribblesdale, 9 mile gentle slope.
volunteer guides will assist on the day

REST POINTS - water, fruits, chocolates will be available
and transport to car park at start point will be provided

Direction :A65 to Skipton, B6479 Settle and  to Horton in Ribblesdale
Car park is adjacent to Horton Cafe
